The USB products (Home
500 and Biz 500 USB) do not use NAT. The default for
business (Ethernet) products is NAT. As an added-cost
option you can now chose an Ethernet product with No-Nat
option, which also includes 5 or 13 static (public)
IP addresses. Please note that at present, this options
are only available to new orders. |

| What IP addressing do I get?

LCBroadband customers are
dynamically allocated a single public IP address (on
Home 500, Biz 500 and Biz 500 USB products) or a number
of private IP addresses (Business range). As an added-cost
feature, Biz 500 and Biz 500 USB customers can opt for
a single static (and public) IP address, and Business
customers can opt for 5 or 13 static (and public) IP
addresses. At present, this is only available to new
orders. |

Yes. NAT is the standard
provision on business products. We have now launched
a No-NAT options for all business (ethernet) products.
Please note this is only available on NEW orders. For

NAT is an acronym for Network
Address Translation. It operates as a solution to having
multiple, global IP addresses. Network Address Translation
has the benefit of increased security on your network.

available for the Biz 500, Biz 500 USB
(1 static IP address) and all Business Plus (5 or 13

The instructions will be supplied with the router.
Assigning a static ip address in win95/98
for your USB modem
1. Double click on my computer on your desktop
2. Double left click on dial-up networking
3. Right click on your adsl dial-up icon
4. and left click on properties on the drop down box
5. click on the servers tab
6. Now click on the tcp/ip settings button
7. Click on the radio box, specify an ip_address
8. Enter your static ip address in the spaces provide

To find out your IP address,
run "winipcfg" using the command funtion in
Windows (if using Win2000, type "ipconfig").
Your current IP address will be displayed - please note
this only remains consistent for customers with the
Static IP option. |
