| Can
I have a personal domain name for my website? |
| |
Yes, as part of the LCBroadband
service you will obtain a personal domain of the form
www..com/yourname/ (business product). If you wish to
own your own personal domain (e.g. www.yourname.com)
you will need to register this in it's own right, which
will include paying any registration fees and rental
fees to the relevant internet authorities. This, of
course, will be subject to availability and approval. |

| What is a domain? |
| |
A domain is an easily recognisable
way to identify resources on the internet. A domain
is often registered by a company or organisation to
reflect their trading name, or perhaps even to represent
one of their products. It's a unique identity and is
how people will remember you (and access your website
and send emails to you) amongst the millions of others
on the internet. Thus, 'freecall-uk.net' is the domain
belonging to Freecall-UK. A domain is the key stem of
an organisations identity on the internet. |
