Broadband Frequently Asked Questions

Compatibility

What is the effect of installing ADSL on my alarm line?
Most alarm systems will operate as normal, but some which use 'out of band' (greater than 4khz) signalling will be incompatible. To check whether your alarm system is compatible please refer to your alarm system manual or provider.
Red ABC and RedCare are known incompatibilities.

We cannot guarantee that all firewalls will work, but we are aware of the following incompatibility: Norton Personal Firewall, specifically with USB AND when using Windows 2000 Professional.

This feature is currently not supported by LCBroadband.
Back
Do the business products support the Windows 98 internet connection sharing capability?
We offer a similar functionality to that provided by Windows 98 connection sharing as we allow multiple PCs to share a single subscriber line. The Windows 98 connection sharing capability is therefore unnecessary with this product. LCBroadband do not support Windows 98 connection sharing capability.
Back
Does LCBroadband support network configurations?
No, LCBroadband will only support a single computer directly connected to the USB products (home 500, Biz 500 USB).
We do support up to 4 computers, each directly connected, to the Business Plus (Ethernet) router. We do not support any network configuration between customers' computers.
